First Encounter is a flipped-narrative fantasy RPG designed to accommodate 3-5 players (plus a Game Master), with an easy to learn rules-lite d10 system.

It features a modular system, allowing Game Masters to make a new Quest in only minutes, or even improvise it at the table! With rules to build new quests, pre-written modules, region-specific encounter tables and much more, First Encounter has been designed to require as little prep time as possible.

Who Are We?

We are Fire & Fable Studios, a queer and disabled-led indie creative studio with a passion for storytelling and tabletop games. First Encounter is our first ever release, following a successful Kickstarter in 2025.
